The All Progressives Congress (APC) Working Committee for Ogun don confirm the suspension of Sen. Gbenga Daniel and Kunle Folarin, wey their wards accuse say dem dey do anti-party activities.
According to wetin dey the statement, the State Chairman of the party, Yemi Sanusi, na him chair the meeting wey happen on Tuesday, and 16 members dey present.
Dem talk say the meeting look into reports from the Disciplinary Committees wey dey investigate misconduct and anti-party activities wey dem accuse Daniel and Folarin for Ward IV and Ward VI of Sagamu Local Government.
“Ward IV, Sagamu Local Government, set up disciplinary committee to check the misconduct wey Daniel do, wey join anti-party activities.
“Same way, Ward VI set up disciplinary committee for the allegation of gross misconduct and anti-party activities wey dem say Folarin do.
“Dem even write letter to the two members wey dey under investigation, invite dem come the disciplinary meeting, make dem talk their own side, show evidence or beg party for pardon.
“But the two members no answer the invite, dem no send written defence, and dem no show for the disciplinary meeting wey dem suppose use defend themselves.
“Because of their deliberate and unexplained absence, the committees still hold the matter as scheduled, hear from witnesses wey dey, check all the documents, and then deliberate on the allegation,” the statement talk.
The party add say after everything, the committees suspend the two members indefinitely, pending more investigation and the result of the inquiry.
Dem still talk say copy of the indefinite suspension letters don already reach the state chairman for approval by the State Working Committee.
“The SWC don confirm the suspensions. This meeting show say the party dey serious about discipline and to follow the constitution,” the statement conclude.
