Enugu Judiciary Workers Don Go Strike Because Dem Never Pay Dem Salary Balance

Enugu State branch of Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) don start indefinite strike because dem never pay their salary balance and other entitlements.

Sampson Ifedimma, wey be state chairman of the union, don confirm di mata for interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday for Enugu.

E talk say di strike wey start Friday evening na because of directive wey come from di union national body wey order judiciary workers for di state make dem stop work from 6 p.m.

Di chairman still explain say dis strike na continuation of di one wey dem suspend before because dem no gree pay Consolidated Judiciary Salary Structure and other entitlements wey still dey ground.

Ifedimma beg Chief Judge of Enugu State and President of Customary Court of Appeal make dem sharply start to pay di Consolidated Judiciary Salary Structure wey don dey hang since 2018.

Di union still dey demand four months salary balance wey dem owe staff wey dey work for state High Court since October 2022, plus seven months arrears wey dem owe people wey dey Customary Court.

Section 121(3) of di 1999 Constitution talk say judiciary money, including salaries and pensions, suppose dey come direct from state consolidated revenue, no be pass executive or civil service hand. JUSUN don dey always push make dem enforce dis law for all parts of di country.
