Public Service Workers Under The Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council Have Declared a Three-Day Warning Strike From 2nd to 4th October Over Worsening Economic Hardship And Demands For Better Wages.

Di council tell workers for federal, state and local government say make dem join di strike, wey go start midnight Friday and end Sunday.

Di decision dey inside one circular wey dem issue on October 1 and National Secretary of di council, Olowoyo Gbenga, sign am. Dem take di decision after Federal Government no answer di demands wey workers send give President Bola Tinubu on September 21.

Di workers dey ask make petrol price come down to ₦500 per litre, make government give dem wage award immediately, and make negotiation for new national minimum wage start before 2027.

Di council don earlier ask make government quickly set up tripartite committee to start di negotiation, say make dem start early so e no go delay di time wey new wage law go begin work.

For di latest circular, di council say, “Di economic hardship and mental stress don too much and e don dey frustrate people.”

Di council also tell public workers make dem join di strike, say, “All public workers for federal, state and local government suppose join di warning strike because if wahala touch one person, e concern everybody.”

Di council add say, “Na now be di time to act and mobilise workers for di three-day warning strike,” and dem tell all dia affiliate groups make dem spread di message across di country.

Di planned strike dey happen as workers dey continue to ask government for relief, as high petrol price, transport fare and other costs of living dey put more pressure on workers' money.
