Even as rain dey fall, some retired police officers come out on Monday go do protest for front gate of National Assembly for Abuja.
Dem dey para say make government commot dem from that Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS).
The old oga dem wey don serve for police before, come hold placard, dey sing solidarity song for inside rain. Dem talk say government don forget them for too long, and say their welfare and respect no dey again.
One of the retired officers, CSP Manir Lawal (wey don retire), talk say,
“We dey here to beg government make dem remove us from this CPS matter. The pension scheme dey cheat us. E no fair at all. I dey 67 years old. Plenty of us here dey for 60s and 70s. We don serve Nigeria well well and we suppose retire with respect. This CPS don make us poor. We get right to ask for better life.”
Even as rain no gree stop, the retired officers no still comot. Dem talk say dem no go go anywhere until National Assembly people listen to their cry.
