Two witness wey DSS bring go court don tell Federal High Court for Akure how gunmen plus bomb take attack St Francis Xavier Catholic Church for Owo on June 5, 2022, kill plenty worshippers.
One church member wey dem hide im name say e see two of di five accused people for di attack.
As lawyer Adedayo Adedipe lead am talk, di witness, SSB, point Al-Qasim Idris and Abdulhaleem Idris say na dem e see inside di church with gun.
E say, “As we dey do mass, we hear gunshot for outside, another one follow, everybody begin run. I see one man with gun wey dey call another person make e come.”
SSB say Al-Qasim na di one wey call another gunman, while Abdulhaleem na di man wey carry bag as dem dey comot.
E add say gunmen dey shoot choir people and people for front, before bomb begin burst — one, two, three, four times.
E say more than 40 people die, many others injure. “Hospital full with people, some lose leg. When I go back church, blood full everywhere,” e talk.
DSS dey try five people over di attack, Idris Abdulmalik Omeiza, Al-Qasim Idris, Jamiu Abdulmalik, Abdulhaleem Idris and Momoh Otuho Abubakar.
Another witness, one woman wey dem call SSC, tell court how bomb tear her leg.
“I dey confused until one old woman die near me. One gunman drop bomb near my head. As I shift, di bomb burst and scatter my leg,” she talk.
She say her two-year-old cousin die too, and she don do four operations.
