Nigerian Government Wan Give Tax-Free Sticker to Small Hustlers

Nigeria government don talk say e go soon begin give tax-exemption sticker to small informal businesses like roadside sellers, vulcanisers, carpenters and other small hustlers so dem no go dey face harassment or pay plenty levies wey no get head.

Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, Taiwo Oyedele, yarn this one for the WIMBIZ Annual Conference wey happen for Lagos.

He say the plan na to protect poor people and small business owners from wrong, unfair charges.

According to am: “If person dey roast corn or dey fix tyre for roadside, those people no get money. You no suppose leave am for tax officer to decide if dem go pay.”

Oyedele talk say government go give these small workers one sticker wey show say dem no need pay tax, make dem fit do their work without wahala.

“That one na simple and direct solution,” he add.

He still talk say the tax reform no be to add more burden for people.

“We gats stop to dey tax poverty, capital and investment,” he explain. “Na why the President talk say we no go tax the seed, we go wait, make we tax the fruit.”
