Federal Government don approve ₦70,000 monthly transport allowance for Nigerian workers for six months, wey go start from November 2026, to reduce the effect of petrol price increase on workers.
The agreement come from meeting between Federal Government and Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) for Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Dem also agree say government go pay outstanding special allowances in three equal monthly instalments, starting from November.
For health workers, government promise to clear 19 months of unpaid allowances within three months, starting from December 2026.
The meeting also agree to present the matter of tax relief for workers to National Executive Council for consideration.
Meanwhile, government go set up Minimum Wage Negotiation Committee, and the committee go begin work immediately.
