Head coach Justine Madugu don release 25-player squad for the Nigeria women's national football team ahead of international friendly matches against Cameroon women's national football team.
According to statement from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the list include team captain Rasheedat Ajibade, first-choice goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, and forwards Esther Okoronkwo and Chinwendu Ihezuo.
The two matches go take place for Yaounde, with the first game set for Saturday, February 28, and the second on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
The squad also see the return of Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene, wey dey play club football for Canada, and Gift Monday, now based for the United States. Both players miss Nigeria last major competition.
England-based goalkeeper Comfort Erhabor get her first-ever national team call-up, while defender Chidinma Okeke, wey dey play for Mexico, also return to the squad.
Midfielder Precious Christopher, wey dey based for Tanzania, earn her first invitation too.
Some regular players still maintain their spots, including defenders Osinachi Ohale, Michelle Alozie, Ashleigh Plumptre, and midfielders Halimatu Ayinde, Christy Ucheibe, Deborah Abiodun, and Jennifer Echegini.
The NFF talk say the friendlies na part of preparation for the 13th Women's Africa Cup of Nations, wey go hold for Morocco from March 17 to April 3, 2026.
