For statement wey Lagos State Ministry of Transportation post for their X account, Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, say the closure go start Wednesday, 11 February, and go last till 11 March, 2026.
The repair work go focus on the stretch from U-Turn Bus Stop reach Sango Tollgate, for both inbound and outbound lanes.
Osiyemi explain say dem go carry out the project in two phases to reduce traffic wahala.
Phase One, wey go run from 11 February to 4 March, go affect traffic wey dey move toward Abeokuta/Sango Tollgate.
“During this phase, traffic from Lagos/Abule-Egba going inward Abeokuta/Sango Tollgate go divert to one side of the road,” the statement talk.
E add say dem go work on one lane at a time, and once dem finish one section, traffic go move there while repair continue for the other side.
Phase Two, wey go run from 4 to 11 March, go affect vehicles wey dey move toward Lagos/Abule-Egba.
“Traffic from Abeokuta/Sango Tollgate inward Lagos/Abule-Egba go divert through one half of the road,” the statement add.
Mr. Osiyemi assure motorists say proper traffic management measures go dey in place throughout the four weeks, and urge road users make dem plan their journeys well, obey traffic signs and cooperate with traffic officials.
The expressway na one of the busiest roads for the country, and e dey undergo continuous rehabilitation to improve road safety and reduce travel time.
