INEC don release final list of candidates wey go contest the 2027 National Assembly election, as political parties dey step up preparations for the general election.
The final list for Senate and House of Representatives get 4,408 candidates, according to analysis of the documents wey INEC publish.
Out of the number, 1,195 candidates dey contest Senate seats, while 3,213 candidates dey contest for House of Representatives.
For all the candidates, 3,965 na men, while 443 na women. For Senate, 1,080 na men and 115 na women. For House of Representatives, 2,885 na men while 328 na women.
Allied Peoples Movement (APM) get the highest number of female candidates for both chambers, with 11 women contesting for Senate seats and 42 women contesting for House of Representatives seats.
INEC release the list as preparations for the 2027 general election dey gather speed.
The Presidential and National Assembly elections go hold on January 16, 2027, while the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections go hold on February 6, 2027.
INEC don earlier release the final list of Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidates, with 18 presidential candidates from different political parties.
Among the presidential candidates na President Bola Tinubu of APC, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of ADC, former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi of Nigeria Democratic Congress, and Oyo State Governor Oluseyi Makinde of APM.
