President Bola Tinubu don accept the resignation of Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, and e don appoint Assistant Inspector-General Tunji Disu as the new acting oga of Nigeria Police Force.
Kayode Egbetokun comot from him position on Tuesday, 24th February 2026, after e meet President for Presidential Villa for Abuja on Monday.
Government sources talk say president ask am make e resign and start handover to him successor, but official statement talk say Egbetokun resign because of wahala for him family.
Tunji Disu now dey expected to become next Inspector-General of Police once official confirmation don complete.
For now, e go dey serve as acting IGP.
Disu na senior police officer wey get plenty years experience.
Before this appointment, e dey work for Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) for Lagos and e don hold important roles like leading Rapid Response Squad and Intelligence Response Team.
Egbetokun first become IGP for June 2023, and him leadership continue after National Assembly change law to allow four-year term for police chiefs.
