FG Give Police Patrol Vehicles as Dem Arrest Over 25 for Lagos-Calabar Highway Vandalism

Assistant Inspector-General of Police for Zone 2, Olohundare Jimoh, say security operatives don arrest more than 25 people wey dem charge to court for vandalising Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.

Jimoh talk this one as Federal Government hand over three patrol vehicles to boost security for Section One of the highway.

He say suspects dey steal railings and metal parts of the road project, but police don clamp down on dem.

“More than 25 individuals don arrest, charge and remand for court over vandalism,” Jimoh talk. “Make anybody wey dey plan am know say we ready for dem.”

He add say vandalism don drop sharply, with no case for the last three weeks.

“We never record any incident for the past three weeks,” he say, adding say no robbery, kidnapping or car snatching don happen since the road open for December 2025.

Federal Controller of Works for Lagos, Olufemi Dare, present the patrol vehicles on behalf of Works Minister Dave Umahi, saying dem go help protect construction materials.

Jimoh say the vehicles go support Zone 2 Command wey cover Lagos and Ogun, as more patrol teams don already deploy along the corridor. He also warn motorists to obey 30km/h speed limit or face arrest and prosecution.
