One 23-year-old hotel worker, Victoria Emmanuel, don dey hospital after one hot water attack happen for one house for Kawo, Kano, on November 10.
According to reports, Victoria finish work and her male colleague, 28-year-old Shadrach Michael, carry am go market to buy things for her upcoming birthday.
Before dem go the market, Shadrach tell am make dem stop for him house first.
Him girlfriend, 25-year-old Chioma Michael, call say she dey come over.
Even though Shadrach try stop her from coming, Chioma show up minutes later and meet Victoria inside the apartment.
According to Victoria sister, Rosemary Emmanuel, Chioma say she wan take warm bath, begin boil water. She run out of gas, borrow from neighbour, still continue to dey boil.
Then Chioma lift the pot of hot water, pour am for Victoria face, back, chest and hands.
Shadrach shock say he lash Chioma, but she run with Victoria phone.
Victoria family tok say dem lock am inside the apartment without medical attention from about 3 pm until before 8 pm. Rosemary say she worry when she no fit reach her sister.
Later, Victoria call, tell her family say she dey for Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital, Nasarawa LGA, Kano.
Her family rush go hospital, meet Shadrach and Chioma’s parents there. But Chioma family deny the assault — dem claim say Victoria accidentally spill hot water on herself while cooking.
Because the doctor wey dey attend no dey, Victoria shift to one clinic for Nomansland.
The case report reach Hotoro Police Division around midnight.
Dem arrest Chioma mother to make Chioma come out. Chioma later surrender on Wednesday.
Case don shift to Bompai Police Headquarters. Rosemary say the family never decide whether to carry court action.
She say she no fit talk on next steps yet. She add say Victoria and Shadrach no be close friends and Chioma show no remorse.
Victoria dey receive treatment and her condition dey improve.
Police never give comment as at press time.
