Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) go begin share Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) across Nigeria on Friday give Nigerians wey register to vote during the first round of voter registration wey happen between August and December 2025.

INEC talk say this exercise na part of preparations for the 2027 general elections. The exercise go happen together with the display of the first voter register from October 9 to 15.

INEC Chairman, Joash Amupitan, announce the news on Thursday for the 10th annual conference of Guild of Corporate Online Publishers wey happen for Lagos.

Lagos Resident Electoral Commissioner, Ayobami Salami, represent am for the event.

Salami talk say, “INEC go officially begin share PVC across Nigeria tomorrow, Friday, October 9, 2026.”

Amupitan talk say INEC register 10,772,421 new voters during the three stages of the Continuous Voter Registration exercise.

Im talk say, “After we finish the three stages of our Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, wey bring more than 10.6 million new people wey wan register, our Voter Register Department don finish the final cleaning of the voters’ details with the Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS).”

During the seven-day exercise, people wey don register to vote fit check their names, pictures, dates of birth and polling unit details.

Dem fit also report any mistake or complain about any name wey dem believe say no suppose dey the register, through the channels wey INEC provide.

INEC don bring in new technology wey go allow dem print PVC, to reduce waiting time and make am easier for people to replace cards wey dem lose or thieves carry.

The commission talk say the PVCs wey dem dey share now na for people wey register during the first stage of registration, wey happen from August 18 to December 10, 2025.

PVCs for people wey register during later stages, change polling units, update their details or need replacement for damaged or lost cards never ready for collection.

INEC urge everybody wey register to vote and qualify to collect their PVC and check their details before the election.

The commission don also buy 57,000 new Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines to make preparations for the 2027 election stronger.
