Kogi Goment Don Launch Security Operation To Rescue Kidnapped Principal, NECO Officer, Students

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, don order massive security operation make security agencies rescue four people wey gunmen kidnap from Government Secondary School, Olowa, for Dekina Local Government Area during di ongoing NECO examination.

Di attack happen on Tuesday evening, as di gunmen carry five people comot from di school. Security operatives don rescue one of di victims, while search still dey continue for di remaining four.

Di people wey still dey captivity na di school principal, Elder Daniel Iyanaa; one NECO official, Solomon Audu; and two female NECO candidates, including one wey dem identify as Dorcas Sunday.

Kogi State Government tok say di rescue mission dey under di coordination of di State Security Adviser, retired Commander Jerry Omodara. Di Nigerian Army, Police, Department of State Services (DSS), Kogi Vigilante Service, local hunters and oda security agencies dey join body for di operation.

Di government add say dem dey also use modern surveillance technology take track di kidnappers and rescue di victims.

For statement wey Information and Communications Commissioner, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, release on Wednesday, e tok say security agencies don dey make "encouraging progress" for di operation.

"Di government no go leave any stone unturned until dem rescue di victims safely and arrest everybody wey get hand for dis crime," Fanwo tok.

According to di state government, preliminary investigation show say di examination centre dey one remote area and e appear say dem bin dey use am as "miracle centre" for external candidates. Government still talk say di way di examination take dey organised no follow di official security arrangement wey di state put in place for NECO centres.

Despite dat, di government insist say dat one no reduce dia responsibility to protect everybody wey dey Kogi State.

"Di victims na our people, and we go do everything possible to make sure say dem return home safely," di statement add.

Government say e no go release more details about di operation for now so dat e no go affect di rescue mission. E also beg residents of Olowa and nearby communities make dem give security agencies useful information wey fit help rescue di victims.

Kogi State Government reassure residents say di security operation go continue until dem rescue everybody wey remain for captivity and bring di kidnappers to justice.
