But traders dey talk say even though price don reduce, people still no too dey buy because money no dey for hand. For Oyingbo Market, many traders tell Nigeria Info say the new harvest season don help bring price of food down, but profit still small. One trader wey him name na Chibuike talk say market don improve small. “E better pass before because people fit buy more now. Beans and rice don reduce small, customers happy. Na harvest season we dey, so things dey drop. But by December e fit go up again because demand go high.” Ebuka, wey dey sell foreign rice, talk say the price don drop from over ₦90,000 early this year to around ₦75,000 for one 50kg bag. “Foreign rice no really come down like people dey talk, but e still better pass before. Local rice dey around ₦60,000 to ₦65,000 now,” he yarn. Another trader, Emma, confirm the same thing but talk say many Nigerians still no get money to buy food. “Price don dey come down, but people no get money. Dem go just come look, waka go. Maybe by December things go change, but for now market slow.” For the same market, Favour talk say him profit don reduce even though plenty goods dey available. “Before, garri na ₦39,000 or ₦40,000 per bag, now e don be ₦24,000 or ₦25,000. Rice too don drop, but we just dey bring new stock. Profit no too dey.” Another seller, Solomon, talk say the better wey people dey see fit no last. “Rice and beans don come down small, but transport wahala and rainy season fit make price rise again,” he explain. Even though food like garri and Nigerian rice don cheap small, other ones like crayfish and pepper still dey jump up and down, depending on type and how e plenty for market. Walter, wey dey sell pepper and grains, talk say: “Food price dey go up and down, e no get fixed price. New pepper cheap small, but crayfish don almost double.” Traders dey predict say price fit still drop go November ending before e go rise again when Christmas demand and transport money go increase.
