Members of National Union of Food, Beverage and Tobacco Employees (NUFBTE) barricade the gate of the agency Isolo office, stop staff from entering or leaving the premises.
The protest make NAFDAC workers wait outside when dem come to start their official work.
The union talk say dem dey protest because NAFDAC still dey enforce the ban on alcoholic drinks wey dem dey sell for sachet and PET bottles wey less than 200 millilitres — rule wey government say na to protect public health and reduce access to cheap alcohol.
Protesters demand make the agency quickly unseal factories and production lines wey the ban affect, warn say if enforcement continue, e fit affect workers and the whole industry.
Some union members also claim say some government offices don direct make dem pause the enforcement, but NAFDAC talk say dem never receive any official instruction to stop the ban.
Police later arrive the scene and remove the barricade, allow staff enter back the office and restore normal access.
NAFDAC resume enforcement of the ban earlier this year, explain say the rule na to reduce harmful effects of alcohol wey easy to buy, especially among children and young people.
The agency insist say dem no shut down companies, but dem don stop the sale of alcohol for sachets and very small bottles to protect public health.
