For statement wey dem release on Thursday for Abuja, the Fund talk say the extension na to give students more time to complete and submit their application forms.
Dem say this move go make sure say no eligible student miss out because of time wahala during the application process.
Director of Strategic Communications for NELFUND, Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, explain say dem need extend the deadline because plenty students need extra time to prepare and finalise their application documents.
While talking about the decision, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NELFUND, Akintunde Sawyerr, say the move show the Fund commitment to inclusiveness and access to education.
“This extension show our commitment to inclusivity and access,” e talk.
“We know say some applicants need more time to complete their application, and this decision go make sure say every eligible Nigerian student get fair chance to benefit from the Fund.”
NELFUND advise students wey never apply, or those wey don start but never finish their application, make dem use the extended deadline and submit all required information on or before February 27, 2026.
The Fund also encourage applicants make dem follow its official communication channels for more updates and contact NELFUND through email or verified social media platforms if dem get any question about the application process.
NELFUND na agency wey government set up to manage the Nigerian Student Loan Scheme. The scheme dey give interest-free loans to students for public tertiary institutions to help dem pay school fees and other related expenses.
