Lagos don ready to enter history as di first African city wey go host di E1 Electric Powerboat Championship, with di race set to hold for Victoria Island waters from October 3 to 5, 2025.

E1 CEO, Rodi Basso, talk say Lagos win hosting rights after tough global bidding. He describe di city as rising hub for innovation, tourism and marine transport.
“E1 no be just racing, na about transforming water mobility,” Basso explain. “Our championship dey show how electric boats fit push sustainability, reduce pollution and open fresh opportunities for cities like Lagos.”

Di E1 Series na di world only all-electric powerboat championship. Previous editions don hold for Monaco, Venice and Jeddah. Lagos event go mark major step for global expansion and promote clean energy, climate action and marine technology.

Organisers, wey dey work with Lagos State Government, say di competition go attract long-term investment for sports and entertainment, plus position Lagos strong for global map of green innovation.

Chairman of di Local Organising Committee and Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Sam Egube, add say:
