Lagos State Police Command don talk say dem arrest 32 suspects and recover 43 vehicles, guns, ammunition and other exhibits for different operations across Lagos for September 2026.
Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, disclose this on Monday during a press briefing for Lagos.
He say the arrests involve people wey police suspect say dem dey involved for armed robbery, cultism, illegal possession of firearms and other violent crimes.
According to the Command, police recover five pump-action guns, five locally made pistols, 20 live ammunition and cartridges, 15 expended ammunition, ₦2.5 million cash and other suspected stolen property.
The police also report say dem arrest 21-year-old Olumide Olusola after Sergeant Johnson Okediji die during stop-and-search operation for Olugbede Street, Egbeda, on September 26.
Police say the driver allegedly speed off after officers signalled him to stop, knocking down the sergeant and dragging him under the vehicle. The officer later die for hospital.
Meanwhile, police say dem impound more than 41 vehicles during an early-morning operation against covered number plates and unregistered vehicles.
CP Fatai appeal to motorists to follow vehicle registration and number-plate rules, while he ask residents to cooperate with police officers wey dey carry out their lawful duties.
“Security na shared responsibility,” the commissioner say, as he assure say the Command go continue with intelligence-led operations against violent crime and cult activities.
