Kogi State Government don yan say dem don recover big load of arms and ammunition for some criminal hideouts after security people join hand run operation for the state.
Governor Ahmed Ododo talk this one for Tuesday during press conference for Government House, Lokoja. He talk say na after security people and state government do one week surveillance using correct intelligence, dem find the arms.
Governor yan say security operatives carry out operation overnight, come find one big criminal camp wey dem hide weapons for, but no arrest anybody for the raid.
He talk say this one na big win for fight against crime. Dem find 24 AK-47 rifles, 23 pump-action rifles, one Tavor rifle, one FN rifle, four Barrett pistols, four Browning rifles, plus 42 magazines.
Other tins dem find na 520 rounds of 7.62mm GPMG ammo, plenty AK-47 ammo, cartridges for pump-action rifles and pistols, handcuffs, 13 holsters, tear gas cartridges, plus parts of submachine guns.
Governor Ododo talk say Kogi dey face this kain wahala because e dey share border with 10 states and na main corridor wey plenty people dey waka enter and comot.
“Kogi no dey sleep. DSS, police, military, navy, plus other security agencies dey work day and night. We no go ever bow to criminals, and we no go ever do deal with them,” he talk.
He ask people to help security agencies by giving correct and timely info, and assure say government dey serious to protect lives and property.
Governor yan say the fight against criminals strong pass before after him meet President Bola Tinubu.
“When I meet Mr President, e tell me say make I do more for my people. That talk give me new energy,” Ododo talk, say dem come quickly review and strengthen security plans.
He thank the President, DG of DSS, Service Chiefs, IGP, and NSCDC for their support, and tell people make dem remain calm and continue to do their lawful business.
