Federal Capital Territory (FCT) workers don start strike today, Monday, as dem lock gate of big government offices and stop work for everywhere for the city.
The strike involve members of Joint Union Action Committee (JUAC), wey dey represent workers for FCT Administration (FCTA) and Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).
The workers dey protest because dem talk say government never implement law wey go give dem more independence and better career growth.
The main wahala na the "FCT Civil Service Commission Act," wey dem sign into law for 2018 but government never fully use am.
Without this law dey work, workers talk say dem no fit reach the highest level for their career, like becoming "Permanent Secretary."
Dem still complain say plenty workers never collect promotion letters or proper pay for many years.
"Na patience, we don get reach limit," one union leader talk. "We want government respect the laws wey dem make."
Because of the strike, plenty people wey waka go government offices Monday to get documents or run business, dem no allow dem enter.
Essential services, like some parts of city maintenance and admin work, don stop.
The workers talk say dem no go return to work until Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, and Federal Government solve their wahala.
For now, gates still locked, and the union talk say the strike go continue until dem see correct changes.
