Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Thursday order make dem demolish one notorious criminal hideout wey dem dey call Sambel Joint for Idoji area of Okene Local Government.

Government talk say correct intelligence show say di place dey linked to serious criminal activities, na why dem carry bulldozer go there.

Di demolition follow recent press statement from Kogi State Government wey cancel all properties wey people acquire through fraud or illegal means for di state. Government don warn say any house or land wey dem use for crime or get am illegally go confiscate, and di people behind am go face law.

Di buildings wey dem demolish for Government Quarters Idoji — GP 23A, 23B, 24A and 24B, with C of O number KG.13958 — na government property wey people illegally take over and turn to criminal base. Investigation show say di houses break Kogi State Land Administration Law and Anti-Kidnapping Law.

As di demolition dey happen, Governor Ododo talk say security of people na im number one priority.

“I swear say I go protect di lives and livelihood of my people, and I go always do wetin go secure dem,” di governor talk.

E remind say from December, government don already warn say any house wey dey harbour criminals go pull down, and di people inside go face prosecution.

“This one no be new thing. Any house wey criminals dey hide go fall. Na proactive step to stop crime for Kogi State,” Ododo emphasize.

Di governor also thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for di support wey e dey give to strengthen security for Kogi.

“I appreciate President Tinubu for making sure say our state no turn playground for criminals,” e add.

Ododo warn strongly say e no go negotiate with criminals.

“If you harbour criminal, your house go go down. We go chase dem anywhere dem hide,” e talk.

Residents of Idoji welcome di action. One resident, Mallam Raji Sanni, talk say di place don dey terrorise di community for long, and e praise di governor for freeing dem from di criminals.
