Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) talk say early findings show say di fire start after power surge when NEPA light come back.

“Thank God say no life loss and no casualty for di incident,” LASEMA talk.

Firefighters and LASEMA officials rush go di area and battle di fire till dem quench am. By afternoon, responders confirm say di building don weak and need urgent structural check before anybody fit enter again.

According to LASEMA, “Di whole one-storey shopping complex and di shops around am burn finish. All goods and properties worth millions of naira don lost to di fire.”

Traders and shoppers gather near di scene, many dey cry as dem dey calculate di loss. Videos wey dey circulate online show thick smoke as fire service dey fight di flames, while some traders try save wetin dem fit.

Officials don advise shop owners make dem tighten fire safety, especially for storage areas, to avoid another disaster.

Dis fire join di long list of recent Lagos fires, including di January fire for Computer Village and other market fires across di state.

Authorities say investigation still dey go on and don ask affected traders make dem document dia losses in case of any assistance. LASEMA also remind people make dem always switch off generators before refuelling and keep emergency exits free at all times.
